KC LEARNS ("we", "our", or "us") operates the KC Learns mobile application and web platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use KC Learns:

• Account information: name, email address, and role (student, teacher, or admin) provided at registration.
• Device tokens: push notification tokens to deliver course updates to your device.
• Usage data: course activity, assignment submissions, attendance records, and grades.
• Contact information (optional): phone number if you opt in to WhatsApp notifications.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and operate the KC Learns platform.
• To send course announcements, assignment reminders, and grade notifications.
• To allow teachers and admins to manage classes and track student progress.
• To improve the app experience and fix issues.

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using Supabase (hosted on AWS). We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties except as required to operate the service (e.g., push notification delivery via Apple APNs or Google FCM).

4. Push Notifications

If you grant permission, we send push notifications for course updates. You can disable these at any time in your device settings.

5. WhatsApp Notifications

If you opt in, we send course notifications via WhatsApp using the Meta Cloud API. Your phone number is stored only for this purpose and is never shared. You can opt out by contacting your administrator.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and data by contacting us.

7. Children's Privacy

KC Learns is intended for use by students enrolled in courses managed by KC Institute of Technology. Accounts for minors are created by administrators and supervised by teachers.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and row-level security on our database to protect your data.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app.

10. Account Deletion

You may request the deletion of your KC Learns account and all associated data at any time by emailing kc.learns.work@gmail.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and your registered email address.

Upon receiving your request, we will delete your account and personal data within 30 days. The following data will be permanently removed: your profile, device tokens, and contact preferences. Course records (grades, attendance, assignments) may be retained by your institution administrator.
